Adsum: An artwork for the moon

In close collaboration with artist Eduardo Kac, Gemini Film Studios helped shape the narrative presentation of Adsum: An Artwork for the Moon—a documentary tracing the creation and journey of an artwork destined for the lunar surface.

Ryan photographed original material at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, then worked through extensive personal and NASA archival material to find the images, moments, and narrative threads that could turn a vast archive into a focused cinematic story. From there, he carried the project through editorial, color, sound design, mixing, and final finishing.

ketamine therapy guided films

Gemini Film Studios was commissioned to create an hour-long audiovisual experience designed for guided ketamine therapy sessions.

Ryan captured hours of original 6K mirrorless and aerial drone cinematography across Florida, Washington, and Wisconsin, building a visual library of landscapes, environments, textures, and movement specifically for the project.

The material was then shaped through editorial, sound, color, and layered visual treatment into a continuous experience with shifting palettes and emotional registers—designed to remain visually engaging while leaving space for the client’s own internal experience.

Gemini Film Studios collaborated with writer-director Vinay Chandra on his short thriller Natural Causes, taking the film from editorial refinement through final theatrical presentation.

Ryan tightened the edit and pacing, maintained continuity across the film, and completed the post-production workflow including color conform, dialogue editing and leveling, sound design, and mixing. He also served as the post-production lead through final delivery, managing picture and audio conforms, QC, DCP creation and testing, and preparation for theatrical exhibition.

The audio workflow included dedicated 2.1 and theatrical 5.1 mixes, allowing the film to move cleanly from online delivery to cinema presentation.

live score of the passion of joan of arc

Gemini Film Studios produced a four-camera recording of Antipriest’s original live score for The Passion of Joan of Arc.

Ryan directed the multicamera production while coordinating three additional camera operators, managing the live camera system through an ATEM Mini, and capturing production audio—all while keeping the crew and equipment unobtrusive inside a live performance environment.

He then carried the project through the complete post-production process: multicamera editing, color grading, sound cleanup, mixing, finishing, and QC. Separate presentation versions were created for the live performance and film-only experience, with dedicated stereo and immersive mixes prepared for each.

Chris Dixon:

Riverbed Lecture Series

Gemini Film Studios collaborated with Chris Dixon on his Riverbed Lecture Series, producing documentary pieces exploring Jungian psychology, art, and self-understanding.

Rather than simply recording lectures, Ryan worked with Chris to develop a visual language around the ideas—photographing interviews alongside artwork, books, personal objects, and details from his environment and everyday life. Those images were then woven through the films to give abstract psychological concepts a more intimate and cinematic form.

Ryan handled the production from cinematography and on-set audio through editing, color grading, QC, and final delivery.

When I first started my Ketamine therapy I researched Ketamine videos and had only found a few that were somewhat beneficial. Most were nature videos with simple transitions that were pleasant to watch but not long enough and not the cerebral depth/connection I was looking for. A Ketamine therapy session is an experience that is difficult to explain. It is personal. Each one of us have different needs and concerns when it comes to the "journey." It is not meant to be "a trip". It's purpose is therapeutic. And that means something different to each individual.
I provided Ryan with practically no input as to what I wanted. I think I mentioned a music video and how it needed to not just be a nature show but challenge me in some way. Really no guidance or idea as to what I was looking for as I wasn't really sure how to put it in words.
Ryan had a peripheral awareness of my mental health problems but I never spoke to him directly about all of my issues or therapy.
The video Ryan created was a masterpiece. I cannot express with the full depth of how moving and meaningful it is. As I watched it I had so many thoughts. How could he know so much and how could he put it all together in such an intuitive way with so little direction? It was everything that I wanted and more than I thought was possible. It made me feel so connected to my loved ones, my past, and everyone and everything. It was not just what I wanted but what I needed. There just aren’t words.
